How much harder is the jackpot?

Compared with Korea's Lotto 6/45, the Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots are each about 36 times harder to win, EuroMillions about 17 times and the UK Lotto about 5.5 times. The US games draw from two separate pools (five white balls plus one coloured ball) with wide number ranges, which is what pushes the odds so high.

To make 1 in 8,145,060 concrete: it is slightly easier than tossing a coin and getting 23 heads in a row (1 in 8,388,608). The Powerball jackpot is about as likely as 28 heads in a row (1 in 268,435,456) — in fact a little less likely.

How the jackpots work

  • Powerball and Mega Millions roll over until someone wins, sometimes into the billions. The advertised jackpot is the annuity value paid over about 30 years; the lump-sum cash option is much smaller.
  • UK Lotto jackpots depend on ticket sales and roll over when nobody matches all six.
  • EuroMillions is played across several European countries and has a jackpot cap of €250 million, which was reached in March 2025.
  • Korea's Lotto 6/45 sets the first prize from that draw's sales and splits it equally among all jackpot winners, paid as a lump sum. If nobody wins, it rolls over to the next draw.

Tax differs too

UK lottery prizes are not taxed. US prizes are subject to federal tax and, in most states, state tax, so the amount actually received is far below the headline figure. EuroMillions winners follow the rules of their own country. In Korea, prizes over ₩2 million are taxed at 22%, rising to 33% on the part above ₩300 million.

What you can do here

Each game page shows the latest results, the most-drawn numbers and the numbers that have gone longest without appearing. You can also check your regular numbers against every past draw, see which numbers tend to come out together, and generate sets for fun. This site does not sell tickets or buy them on anyone's behalf.

Every combination has exactly the same chance in every draw, whichever lottery you play. Past results do not predict future draws. Please play responsibly; in the UK, GamCare (gamcare.org.uk) and in the US, 1-800-GAMBLER offer free support.
